Metrolinx GO Station Parking Lot Rehabilitation — Meadowvale & Etobicoke North
IPAC Paving was awarded Metrolinx Contract PT-2025-RTSF-129 for parking lot rehabilitation at Meadowvale GO Station and Etobicoke North GO Station. The project is being delivered as a coordinated multi-site civil rehabilitation program, with each station requiring its own construction sequencing, traffic and pedestrian management, utility coordination, quality control and site-specific remediation. At Meadowvale GO Station, the work focuses on rehabilitation of the north parking lot and includes selective demolition, pavement removal, excavation and grading, granular base reconstruction, asphalt paving, concrete curbs and sidewalks, tactile walking surface indicators, bollards, pavement markings, catch basin and maintenance-hole work, and storm drainage improvements. At Etobicoke North GO Station, the rehabilitation program includes parking lot reconstruction across separate work areas, pavement and granular base improvements, concrete work, accessibility features, pavement markings, bollards, drainage structure adjustments, geotextile soil stabilization and segmental retaining wall work, coordinated around existing utility infrastructure and active station operations.
- Selective site demolition and removal of existing pavement
- Excavation, grading and subgrade preparation
- Soft-spot and subgrade remediation where directed
- Granular base reconstruction, reshaping and compaction
- Hot-mix asphalt paving and tack coat application
- Concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks and related site concrete
- Accessibility upgrades including tactile walking surface indicators
- Catch basin and maintenance-hole adjustments and related drainage work
- Bollards and site protection elements
- Pavement markings and parking lot reinstatement
- Temporary fencing, hoarding, traffic control and phased site access
- Inspection, testing and quality-control coordination
Meadowvale GO Station — North Parking Lot Rehabilitation
- Pavement removal and selective demolition
- Excavation, trenching, backfilling and rough grading
- Granular roadbed reshaping and aggregate base reconstruction
- Subgrade and soft-area remediation based on field and geotechnical conditions
- Asphalt paving and pavement tie-ins
- Concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks
- Tactile walking surface indicators and accessibility improvements
- Bollard installation and reinstatement
- Maintenance-hole and catch basin work
- Storm drainage piping and associated site drainage improvements
- Pavement markings and final surface reinstatement
- Phased construction to maintain access within an active GO station environment
Etobicoke North GO Station — Parking Lot Rehabilitation
- Parking lot rehabilitation across separately phased north and south work areas
- Selective demolition and pavement removal
- Rough grading and granular base improvements
- Geotextile soil stabilization where specified
- Asphalt paving and surface restoration
- Concrete forming and cast-in-place concrete work
- Concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks
- Tactile walking surface indicators and accessibility upgrades
- Segmental retaining wall work
- Bollards and site protection elements
- Maintenance-hole and catch basin adjustments
- Pavement markings and parking lot reinstatement
- Coordination around existing utility infrastructure and active transit operations
Outcome
The project demonstrates IPAC’s ability to manage complex, multi-location civil construction within active public transit environments while maintaining a strong focus on safety, access, phasing, quality control and stakeholder coordination.
