SmartCentres Huntsville / Walmart Supercentre Pavement Rehabilitation

IPAC was engaged to complete pavement rehabilitation and site improvement work at the SmartCentres Huntsville / Walmart Supercentre property located at 111 Howland Dr in Huntsville, Ontario. The project focused on improving the performance, safety, and serviceability of active parking lot and roadway areas. The scope included removal of existing asphalt and granular material, base and subbase repairs, placement of new granular material, heavy-duty and light-duty asphalt paving, tack coat application, and installation of a new asphalt surface course. The work also included drainage-related improvements, including catch basin frost treatment with subdrains, new catch basin frames and grates, manhole/storm sewer frame and grate adjustment, and water valve height adjustment to match the new asphalt elevations.

• Mobilization and demobilization
• Temporary fencing, construction barrels, signage, and traffic management
• Milling, saw cutting, excavation, and off-site disposal
• Base and subbase repairs using 19 mm crusher run limestone
• Fine grading, proof-rolling, and construction field testing coordination
• Placement and compaction of new granular base material
• HL8 base course asphalt for heavy-duty and light-duty pavement areas
• Tack coat application prior to asphalt surface course
• HL3 asphalt surface course placement and compaction
• Catch basin frost treatment, including subdrains and new frames and grates
• Manhole / storm sewer frame and grate replacement or adjustment
• Water valve height adjustment to match new asphalt elevations
• Phased construction planning to maintain access at an active retail property
