Sacred Heart Catholic High School — Driveway, Parking Lot & Site Rehabilitation
IPAC Paving completed a major civil site rehabilitation project at Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Newmarket, Ontario for the York Catholic District School Board. Construction began in late June 2026 and focused on the reconstruction and improvement of the school's west and south walkways, driveways, parking lots and associated site infrastructure. The project involved removal of deteriorated asphalt, concrete and granular materials, followed by subgrade preparation, grading, granular base and subbase placement, asphalt base and surface courses, and extensive concrete reconstruction. New and reconstructed curbs, curb ramps, tactile plates, signage and pavement markings improved circulation and accessibility throughout the site. Drainage and underground works formed an important part of the project, including catch basin and maintenance-hole adjustments, new drainage structures, subdrain installation, storm sewer work and connections to existing infrastructure. The project also included replacement and coordination of site lighting poles, bases, conduits and wiring, together with speed bumps and related traffic-calming features. Additional site work included foundation-related repairs where exposed during reconstruction, fencing and gate work, reinstatement of school site features, landscaping and sod restoration. Because the work was completed within an active institutional environment, the project required careful phasing, temporary fencing, pedestrian routing, site safety controls and coordination with the school board and consultant to maintain safe access and minimize disruption.
